Blätter, Gräser und Samen auf Öl mit Schellack (2025) / Leaves, grasses and seeds on oil with shellac (2025) Statement A moment of letting go becomes the origin of a new order: grasses, leaves, and seeds meet wet paint. Working together with Junior, a delicate choreography emerges between chance and intention. Shellac holds the movement, linseed transforms imperfections into stardust – an organic landscape between earth's gravity and updraft. Details Artist: Philipp Josef Daum Title: Leaves, Grasses, and Seeds on Oil Year: 2025 Technique: Leaves, grasses, and seeds on oil under shellac on canvas Dimensions: 60 × 90 cm Signature: Philipp Josef Daum, 2025 (back) Place of Creation: Warendorf, Germany Creation and Material Oil on canvas as a base; grasses and leaves are then thrown into the wet paint. Working with Junior: seeds, herbs, and spices are arranged in a delicate order, forming ground and flight formations. Shellac is then applied as a protective layer. To integrate solid particles into the shellac, linseed was thrown over the shellac, which densifies the texture and completes the composition. Surface: tactile texture; sealed. For longevity, display out of direct sunlight and in stable room air.
